About Blacklist Lookup

How to verify if your domain is blacklisted?

The other day I received an email inquiry from one of my readers. I receive dozens of queries a week and they all have something interesting to teach you. From here I want to thank this person for sharing his case with me.

I particularly liked this one since it usually happens to a large number of people who apply email marketing but whom, consciously or unconsciously; skip some key point in the basics of an email marketing permit.

It turns out that this person had been doing email marketing to a database for several years but it's opening rate was very low. He provided valuable content and saw that the casualties of his campaigns were also very few but still, his delivery rate was low.

He talked to some clients and subscribers and they told him that those emails didn't arrive. Now, once they looked in the spam folder they found them. Most went to SPAM.

I want to take advantage of this article to answer you widely, show you how to know if it is listed as SPAM and so take advantage of it also in case it is also your case.

In the case of this reader and given that he could get in direct contact with his potential clients and ask them he could detect that the problem was that they ended up in the SPAM tray.

On the other hand, it is not necessary that you have to contact them but with a simple check, you can do it yourself.

The first thing you should do is verify if your domain or IP is in effect crossed out as SPAM and included in a blacklist or blacklist.

To verify if your domain or IP are blacklisted or several, I recommend the tool that I use with my clients. This tool is called SEOTOOLS. Once in it, you go to blacklist and enter your domain or IP.

How to do it?

You go to the tool. Once there you enter your domain or IP and click on Blacklist Check. As you see in this screenshot.

In this case, I used my own domain.

Verify IP domain spam Once you have clicked on the button, a list of the most frequent blacklists will appear. Just by appearing in one of them you are already fried and your campaigns will go to the SPAM tray.

Remember If you use external email marketing managers, what can be blacklisted is your domain. On the other hand, if you have installed a program for sending mass emails in your

Servers themselves can be both your domain and your IP. This second I never recommend. The best thing is that you hire the services of external email marketing managers with a high reputation such as Mailchimp, Mailrelay, Aweber, Getresponse, ActiveCampaign, and forget to manage it on your own. They are the experts to deliver your message.

Verify IP domain spam In my case by following strategies and, of course, permission you can see that I am not listed on any blacklist.

My domain is not considered as SPAM on the Internet for following a strategy designed and developed by and to add value and never bother my potential clients.

In addition, each and every one of the emails that I have in my base is 100% voluntary. Something key Remember Use good practices. You may not be listed or crossed out as SPAM now, but it may not be so soon. We must prevent. Also, don't forget that people hate being sold. They should be the ones who find in you the only solution to their problems or needs and are eager to receive your campaigns.

Now, I put the following case of a company that, ironically, is engaged in marketing and that sends me it's advertising to my mailbox without having requested it.

I don't know this company at all. It is a simple example. Where are your campaigns going to stop? Logically to the SPAM folder and not because I sent them but because they are already listed and go alone.

It is ironic that this company is dedicated to marketing, right? If I put your domain in the tool it appears to me that it is listed in many more blacklists.

Verify ip domain spam Now, if by chance you have taken the path of setting up your own email marketing manager on your servers (again I do not recommend it) in addition to putting your domain you must also check your IP. As with the domain, a list will appear where you can see if this IP is included in a blacklist.

What should you do if you are blacklisted?

In the event that your domain does not appear on any blacklist, I give you my most sincere congratulations. Take care of your reputation. Remember that it takes years to build it and minutes to lose it. Now, if your domain is included in any SPAM list, I'm afraid you can't do much. I certainly don't have a solution for it. I have heard that you can contact those lists and ask to be removed from them. Also, if you are in one, it is because you have done something wrong, consciously or unconsciously. Instead of looking for a way to erase "your bad practices" start changing your vision of email marketing and "reform" yourself.
